Childcare Services
The nationally recognized CARES Child and Family Program provides free child care services, educational activities, parent education, and referrals to support children and families at Los Angeles General Medical Center.
CARES Child Care Centers provide a wide range of free services to families of patients at Los Angeles General Medical Center. Our literature-based curriculum includes math, science, art, language, and plenty of play to encourage learning and development. We address children’s nutritional needs by offering healthy meals and snacks throughout the day.
Our dedicated staff also provides parents with educational resources and psychological support within a culturally sensitive environment. When needed, children are referred for vision, speech, hearing, and immunization services. During the holidays, many families in need receive gifts, school supplies, food, and clothing. Each year, the centers serve a large number of children and families.
In addition, CARES offers child care services to Medical Center employees’ children, accepting them on a temporary or ongoing basis. State-subsidized child care is available for qualifying employees, subject to space availability.

By supporting the CARES Child & Family Program, donors help provide essential resources that create a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. Whether through toy donations, funding new educational materials, or enhancing playgrounds, every contribution makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their caregivers.
