CARES (The Medical Center Auxiliary for Recruitment, Education, and Services) is committed to supporting patients and their families at Los Angeles General Medical Center.
Our Mission
CARES provides financial support and volunteer services to enhance the patient experience. Our primary mission is to bring comfort to patients during their hospital stay and to help them access quality health care.
We operate several shops within the hospital, sponsor medical and health education events, and support programs that facilitate patient visitation and deliver comfort items to those in need. Additionally, CARES provides clothing for discharged patients when necessary and helps create a welcoming environment by decorating patient care areas.
Get Involved
Our volunteers, staff, and community partners play an important role in supporting CARES programs and services at Los Angeles General Medical Center. Through special events, community outreach, and volunteer efforts, they help create meaningful experiences and provide valuable support for patients, families, and the surrounding community.
